Dr. Diana Nguyen completed her Honours Bachelor's of Science in Biochemistry at McMaster University and then went to complete her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo. She has a special interest in dry eyes and specialty contact lenses. During optometry school, she served as the Vice President of Education at the Canadian Association of Optometry Students, where she increased public awareness about optometry through local community booths and educational videos on YouTube. She enjoys mentoring and writing educational content for patients, optometrists and optometry students. Currently, she is the content curator for MyDryEye Space (a part of ww.MyDryEye.ca) where she facilities a supportive and educational space for dry eye patients.

She has an interest in binocular vision, and is past president of @caostudents. Check her out @clinicfresh! Dr Abraham Yuen graduated from UW in 2017 and currently works at multiple clinics in the GTA in a variety of modalities. He has volunteered on both the OAO and College previously. He has an interest in dry eyes, sclerals and low vision.
  • Our final panelist is Dr Wes McCann! Link in bio to register 🔗 Dr McCann has an impressive resumé in his young career as an owner of 5 practices in London and area. He is also a professional consultant for Johnson and Johnson, and has given numerous lectures on contact lenses, dry eyes and ocular disease management. Dr McCann has also served as a board of director on the @ontariooptometrists. Dr. McCann attended Western University and Nova Southeastern University where he earned three Honours Bachelor of Science degrees, an accelerated MBA, and Doctorate of Optometry. In 2017, he was a recipient of the Top 20 Under 40 Award that is awarded to 20 individuals under the age of 40 recognized for their business achievements and community involvement in London Ontario.

Link in bio 🔗 She is an examiner with the Optometry Examining Board of Canada, OSCE question writer and runs an optometry private practice in New Brunswick. She has hosted over 10 optometry and optician students over the past four years in her clinic. She loves to workout, travel (in Atlantic Bubble) and hang out with her chihuahua. 🐕🤓
  • Our next panelist is Dr Ben Wild. He started at the University of Ottawa and obtained a B.Sc. in biopharmaceutical science and an M.Sc. in cellular and molecular medicine before going to the University of Waterloo for optometry. Upon graduation, he moved to Peace River, Alberta, 5 hours north of Edmonton, where he handles a wide range of ocular diseases in rural setting. He became Lead Optometrist of the clinic only 2 years into his career with @FYidoctors.
